I offer small-group dog hikes, in-home pet sitting, and drop-in care for cats, dogs, and senior pets in Oakland and the East Bay. I specialize in calm, low-stress care and medication support for pets who need extra attention.
Dog Hikes — $65 per dog per hike
Small-group hikes in the Oakland redwoods and nearby trails.
Dogs are matched by size, temperament, and energy level and walked on secure 6-ft leashes.
Available Tuesdays & Thursdays.
In-Home Sitting (Daytime Care) — $24 per hour
Daytime companionship in your East Bay home for long days away.
Includes feeding, potty breaks, play, companionship, and medication administration.
6–8 hour daytime blocks. No overnight stays. Available Fri–Sun.
Drop-In Visits — $35 per 1-hour visit
One-hour visits for feeding, walks, potty breaks, medication, and companionship.
Ideal for weekend trips and busy days.
East Bay service area. $5 travel fee for homes outside a 2-mile radius.
Two visits per day minimum. Available Fri–Sun.
Meet & Greets — Free
A free meet-and-greet is required before starting care to review routines, keys, and emergency info and ensure a good fit.
Dogs must have a secure walking harness for hikes and in-home care.

Hi, I’m Jules, the founder of Redwoods and Waves. I have over seven years of experience as a counselor in San Francisco, along with many years as a pet sitter and dog walker. Currently, I’m in school on the path to becoming a therapist. My counseling background shapes how I show up with animals in a patient, observant, and nurturing way, with an emphasis on medication support for pets who need it. I also prioritize clear, reliable communication with owners.
Whether it’s a check-in at home or a scenic hike through the redwoods, I make sure your pet feels engaged, safe, and well cared for. I’m also a longtime artist and love sending thoughtful, cute photos of your pets while you’re away.
Meet Sombra, my 18-year-old cat. She’s tiny, blind, and uses her sharp senses to walk or jump anywhere she wants. I treat every animal I look after with the same level of love, respect, and nurturing I give Soms.
